Every Affiliate Needs These 3 Things

Working at home from your computer can always be a hard task. Often affiliates will find them selves not paying enough attention to tasks that need to be finished and more focused on internet forums, blogs or something that’s on the television. From talking to other affiliates and reading some blogs I have come across three things that have really helped me focus and work hard. Here are three things every poker affiliate needs in their office:

Whiteboard – A lot of affiliates on the forums and blogs had been talking about how great having a whiteboard hanging in your office is. I decided to listen to them and go buy one for myself – I couldn’t be happier with the inexpensive purchase. Affiliates all probably use the whiteboards a bit different, but mainly with the same idea. Personally I split my whiteboard into five sections. In the bottom right I have my monthly income goals for each affiliate program I work with. In the bottom left I have monthly goals and long term goals listed in bulleted points. In the middle I have a section for weekly 'to do's' that I cross off when I'm finished. The top two sections are my workout schedule for the week and a random section where I currently have been writing quotes. This whiteboard is setup to the right off my computer desk and I can honestly say it has helped me work harder.

Vision Board – I originally got this idea from a fellow poker affiliates blog and it has been helping me ever since. The idea of a vision board is to use visuals to help inspire you to continuing work hard and not forget where you want to end up. Basically what you will do is print off or cut out pictures from magazines of things that you want in your life. You can then make a collage with these pictures on a blank piece of paper or cardboard. For example, on my vision board I have printed off pictures of an exotic beach, a nice truck, a sick looking office setup, a few money signs, a wicked big screen TV setup and of course a good looking chick in a bikini. Everything I have printed off and glued to my vision board are things I really want to be able to have in the future. I have this hung in my office and it really helps me remember why I am working so hard at my computer.

Monthly Income Goal – This is self explanatory – set a goal for yourself on what you want to be making per month. Make sure it is realistic and attainable, yet something that will take hard work and make you happy. Now write that number down in bold with a black marker on a piece of paper. Hang it somewhere in your office where you will see it everyday. Once you surpass this number put a big fat ‘X’ through it and make a new goal. I just started to do this and haven’t reached my first goal yet, but I am working that much harder to get there.
