The Importance of Networking

When starting out as a new affiliate, whether you are a poker affiliate or any type of affiliate, one of the most important things to do is connect with other affiliates. Meeting and talking to other affiliates is called ‘networking’. Networking with other affiliates has so many positives and is a must do for every affiliate.

There are so many different reasons that networking with other affiliates can help you out. Whether you are having a problem with your web design, are looking build links, want to partner up with some one on a site or just talk about the industry in general you will need to have friends in the industry to make it easy. Some people may think that other affiliates won’t talk to you because you are their competition, but usually that is the furthest from the truth. Most affiliates enjoy helping their fellow affiliates because they know that when down the road when they need a favor they can get it back.

When I got started on my first website I had practically no clue what I was doing and I created an awful looking website (although at the time I thought it looked good LOL). I made a post on the Poker Affiliate Forums and almost right away I had a woman willing to help me. She honestly talked to me for 3 hours straight on MSN answering my stupid questions and helping me change a few things on my site. She kept me on MSN and continued to help me out from time to time when I needed some help. Without her it would have taken me so long to figure out some of the stuff she told me, and who knows I may have given up and quit. Since adding her to MSN I now have over 30 other affiliates on my MSN and Skype messengers. I have gotten tons of things done that I wouldn’t have without the people I have networked with.

After reading this post I hope you realize the impact connecting with other affiliates can have on yourself. Go out and find a forum within your niche or even send webmasters a personal e-mail through their contact us pages - Shit, start off by e-mailing me. Find other successful affiliates, talk it up with them as much as possible, follow them, listen to them, and you will improve yourself and your business.
