Focus on Converting Your Visitors

Affiliates Converting Website Visitors

November 11th, 2008

Focusing on converting your visitors is something that is often over looked, especially in the poker affiliate industry.  Most poker sites, including my own, don’t focus on converting visitors as much as they should be.  If you take a look at different poker websites you will most likely see that there isn’t a lot of call to action on these websites.  There are some affiliate industries that generally do a great job on focusing on converting their visitors.

There are always some affiliates who think that using ‘call to actions’ is being too pushy and that your website visitors want to choose themselves and don’t want to feel like they are being pushed to click something or sign up somewhere (in my case an online poker room).  This is how I used to feel.  I would rarely throw banners up or any links to poker rooms I am promoting, and would feel visitors would appreciate that and read the room reviews themselves.

Over the last little while I had started to see an increase in traffic to some of my sites but not as big of an increase in conversions.  This is when I thought I should try focusing on converting my visitors more with call to actions.  I started adding banners in the middle of my reviews, and poker promotion articles and added text links to poker rooms within my articles.  Now I made sure I didn’t overdue it too much, as I personally don’t like visiting banner farms or sites with a ton of links.  Since I added a few simple call to actions I have noticed a good increase in my conversions; My revenue and signups are increasing at the online poker rooms I have been promoting.

Does your website focus on converting your visitors?  Take a look at your website(s) and see if you are taking advantage of your website visitors.  Get a friend of yours that isn’t within the same industry as you to see if he thinks you are converting your visitors well. Since I realized I wasn’t doing a good job at converting my visitors I have paid close attention to it and I am starting to see better results.  No matter what affiliate industry you are in it is important that you focus on converting your websites visitors in order to achieve your full potential.
