Choosing a Good Poker Affiliate Program

Reviews of Good Poker Affiliate Programs

August 14th, 2008

As a webmaster and poker affiliate I have gone through a lot of different poker affiliate programs that suck - Whether it is because of affiliate managers who don’t give a crap about you, out dated banners, high affiliate fees or really late payments. Working with these different affiliate programs can really be a pain in the ass. I often wonder what the management of these affiliate programs are thinking – they are most likely losing hundreds of thousands of dollars simply because they don’t treat affiliates well.

When I am looking for a new poker room to promote the first thing I do is look at the affiliate program. Firstly and most important to me is the communication between the affiliate managers (AMs) and myself. Having a good AM that will respond to you quickly comes in handy in so many different ways. If you are in need of information for a new promotion or one of your visitors has asked you a question about the room it is very helpful if the AM can respond to your e-mail or instant message within a few hours.

Another thing to look for when choosing a poker affiliate program is the payout structure for affiliates. Some rooms will promote something ridiculous like a 50% MGR for new affiliates but will hide a bunch of fees in their terms that makes the real MGR somewhere around 5%. Before choosing an affiliate program based on their payout, check the terms and conditions or ask other affiliates who have dealt with the program.

How you will be paid by the affiliate program is another thing you should check before singing up, especially for US affiliates. Affiliates in the US often have a lot more troubles being paid from some rooms because of the laws in the states. You should always check how the affiliate programs are paying the affiliates to ensure you will be able to receive your earnings.

A bonus for affiliates is an affiliate program who will e-mail or post when new promotions or bonuses are available for players. It makes life a lot easier for the affiliates if they can get this information without searching the poker room’s website. Having up to date promotion and bonuses on your affiliate site is a must.

Affiliate Program

The following affiliate programs are the best poker affiliate programs I have dealt with:

Cake Poker – This affiliate program is one of my favorites. The AM at Cake Poker is really helpful and answers e-mail super quick. They hold a lot of great promotions for affiliates such as the Playboy mansion trip, F1 race or the trip to Barcelona . Here is the link for the Cake Poker Affiliate Program.

PAW – The Poker Affiliate World network is a wicked concept. This program works with almost all of the online poker room affiliate programs to create an all-in-one program. Affiliates can sign up for this network and promote every room very easily. Tracker, bonus codes and banners are provided and payments are made from all rooms at once. Here is the link to the PAW Affiliate Network, use the PAW referral code 'poker69' when signing up.
