Today Jeremy Enke had Shoemoney on a live Ustream answering some questions that PAL members about poker affiliating, or any internet marketing in general.  It was a great webinar, and I was glad I remembered to set an alarm to remind myself about the show. I will list a couple good points I got from Shoemoney throughout the show.

1) USE BUTTONS – I had never really thought much about this until he brought it up today when looking at a landing page.  Shoemoney suggested not to use links for call to actions, and instead use buttons.  He also gave a suggestion to test out different colors of the buttons, and for the one he was looking at suggeted orange.  After the show I quickly implemented his tip on my Sports Betting site in a Ole Miss vs South Carolina betting article I wrote up for tonight’s football game.

2) DIRECTING EXPIRED DOMAINS – One thing he talked about was directing expired domains that have page rank towards your site.  I missed the first couple seconds of him talking about this so I hope I got the right point – but I am almost positive he recommended doing this.  Even if the domain has a penalty it will stick with the domain and won’t carry on to where it’s directed.  I am going to get the $1 Shoemoney tool trial that Enke has up on PAL to test out his domain tool.

3) SPECIFIC CODES – Shoemoney mentioned that through studies they have found using targeted codes (in our case for poker – bonus codes) you should get more sign ups then using general codes.  So for my Poker Bonus site I should try and make my codes more targetted, perhaps something like ‘BPR600′ -BPR standing for the sites initials Bonus Poker Review.

There was a lot of other good info shared on the webinar as well.  Head over to PAL and check it out yourself – it was worth the hour!

Yea, it was definitely a good show. I learned quite a few things myself as well and hope to implement those into my site soon. Hopefully they will do another webinar soon as I had a few more questions that I thought of afterwards(never fails of course).

Glad to see you got a blog of Kevin, will be sure to check it our regularly.

Thanks for listening and doing this write-up Kevin. I’ll try to get another one of these set up in a couple months with Jeremy. It was definetely a good learning experience. I am going to re-listen to this tomorrow morning and take some notes.
