A common question coming from poker players or anyone interested in becoming a poker affiliate is “how much exactly do poker affiliates earn?” There isn’t a set amount of money or salary that a poker affiliate will earn (as the pay is performance based) and there is no limit on how much a poker affiliate can earn, but I will try to provide a rough idea of what poker affiliates earn for those interested.
First of all it is important to understand that as a poker affiliate you might earn $0 lifetime. Now if you work hard I am confident anyone can earn a little bit of money from poker affiliating, but there is nothing saying that you will earn anything at all.
If you are looking to become a poker affiliate you should understand that it will probably take a few months (6 months is a number I’ve heard a lot) before you can expect to earn any amount that will make an impact on you. With that said, if you have prior experience with web design, seo, or any internet marketing you should be able to make money as a poker affiliate a lot sooner than that.
In fact, I can come up with a new idea for a website and have it earning money within a week sometimes. If you know the process on how to make money as a poker affiliate the money will come a lot easier. You will notice a trend that the longer a poker affiliate has been in the business the more money they are making. This can be for a number of reasons, but the main thing is they know the process for making money as a poker affiliate.
When I was first starting up as a poker affiliate I really had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t have any design experience, didn’t know what SEO meant, and didn’t really understand that I would need to provide actual value in order to make money. It took me a few months to earn my first bit of income from a poker affiliate, and then I was hooked.
Because you probably want numbers that you can expect to earn if you become a poker affiliate I will throw out some general ideas on what a poker affiliate income can be…. of course it depends on a lot of things: how fast you learn, how much you know, marketing experience, how much time you dedicate to working, etc, etc. Oh and even luck plays a role in things.
After you start generating income you can expect to make anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars per month. My guess on the AVERAGE income for a poker affiliate who has been working hard for 12 months would be maybe $1k-3k per month. Of course there are people who will still be earning a lot less and some earning a lot more.
If you stick with it for another year or two (2-3 years total) I think the average income is a bit higher, maybe between $3-8k. Again people on both sides of those numbers too – you could still be struggling to make $500 per month or you could be running a $1 million a year business, but that is my guess on a an average.
As you can see from the numbers I provided, you can earn a full time income as a poker affiliate fairly quickly if you work hard and smart enough.
The sky is the limit for earnings as an affiliate.
I wanted to end of this poker affiliate income post with a list of some quality sites within the online gaming industry:
I will be posting my monthly goal article for December and November recap at the start of December… have a good rest of November!
I just wanted to get a quick blog post up as I am back from Vegas and almost recovered… damn my third day home and I still don’t feel 100%. Vegas was a blast, and was what I full expected going with 7 other guys (21 and 22 years old). I didn’t do well with my gambling, but man we had a fun time at the clubs and by the pool during the day. We picked up three 30 cases of beer and a bottle of Vodka for Saturday and the cab driver thought that was for the weekend… we told him it was for the day and he called us crazy canucks – of course we polished that off during the day and went out at night to Pure at Caesars, good times. Honorable mentions to Enke’s home base in Vegas… the Spearmint Rhino was great, although we didn’t find Candy! All in all great trip.
In other affiliate news Dealer Dan got his new affiliate bible site live. I knew he was going to make it pretty special, as he always knows how to do things right, but damn this site is kickass. If you are an affiliate at any level (or have no clue what an affiliate is) you need to check out this site. Awesome articles are up there from his last site, he released a sweet step by step affiliate guide that is a must read, and has his blog going as well (with comments now!). Go check it out.
Also I would love if any of you affiliates out there could do me a big favor. I just started up a little YouTube Channel that I am looking for some subscribers. It looks pretty mickey mouse with only 3 people subscribed, and would love if you could subscribe to my NHL Predictions channel if you have an account (who doesn’t these days!). That would mean a lot to me, thanks guys! Here is a pic from Vegas.

Tomorrow I head out to Las Vegas with 7 buddies… going to fun and nice to get away from the computer for a few days! We are taking one of those 9 person buses to the Detroit Airport (2h 30min drive) and then flying out and should be checked into our hotel (Caesars Palace) around 7pm Vegas time. I’ll be there until Monday, which is definitely going to fly by. I’m pumped to be there for college football and NFL so I can do some betting, which is how I won money last year… unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to lay the 5 points on my Steelers in the Sunday night game.
Just lastnight me and Goldie (JohnG at PAL) got my new NHL Predictions template installed that he created for me. It isn’t 100% finished yet, but I hope to get everything done early next week. He did an awesome job and I think the template is a lot more conversion focused than my last template… looking forward to see an increase in conversions throughout the NHL season! I switched it over from html to wordpress so that I can do daily blog posts, which should get more visitors coming back to the site… an example if my first post for November 11th NHL Picks that I got up this morning.
When I get back from Vegas I have a lot of things I want to get done, and I am going to start taking my business more serious. One thing I plan on doing is getting on a more normal sleeping pattern where I wake up at 9am everyday and get to bed in decent time. When I’m on more of a set schedule I find I get a lot more work done.
Anyways just wanted to get a quick post up, wish me luck in Vegas! I’ll be sure to get some pictures posted when I get home.
I guess you could call this Part 2 of “Re-investing Affiliate Income“. I had some people suggest I write a post on what exactly I would recommend newer affiliates invest in with their first bit of income coming in and agreed it would make for a pretty good blog post, even if the answers would be different for everyone.
I think choosing what exactly you re-invest in should differ for each affiliate depending on their skills. If you are wicked with designing websites, coding, etc then you won’t really need to put any money into hiring anyone for that, if you write great content and write it fast your first bit of income probably shouldn’t get forked out to a content writer – you get the point – when starting out you will most likely only have a little bit of cash to spend and you will have to be doing all that you can yourself.
Below I will go over some places where you can re-invest your affiliate income that will help you grow you business…
Content – This seems to be the biggest thing in Google right now. The search engines love content and the more content you have on your site the easier it will be for people to find your site. If you are new to affiliating you should aim on writing 2 or 3 quality articles each and every day to your site, but as you start to get income you can slowly start to outsource some of the writing, which will free some time for other tasks. Trust me you want your site to have a lot of content, so bust your ass writing and when you have the money you can find some good cheap writers to help you out.
Design/Coding – Most affiliates suck at this stuff, which is why you will probably want to outsource this. You will want to have a nice looking site that has clean code for the search engines. You don’t need to invest a lot of money into your site design – I know a lot of affiliates who use basic designs and convert very well. Just get something that looks nice and will convert visitors and you are set.
SEO – Some of my best SEO work was done when I had no money to spend on SEO. With that said I think there is times when you should fork over a bit of money on SEO to help improve in the search results, which will int he end help you make more money. But again, SEO work doesn’t need to be paid for.
Domains – Although there is some debate on this, I believe that having an exact match domain gives you a little boost in the search engines and is something you should look for. Even if it a tiny boost, everything helps in the competive gambling industry. If I was trying to rank for “Poker Bonus” I would rather own something like PokerBonus.xxx then BonusForPoker.xxx. If it is only going to cost you a small price for an exact match domain that you want to rank for, go for it. My buddy Kendall just picked up a wicked Online Blackjack domain and I am sure it will help boost rankings just a bit!
Aweber – This should maybe go near the beginning of the post, as I think Aweber is a must for any webmaster. Building a list will give you a chance to market to your target audience whenever you want. Invest the $10 a month or whatever it is, start building a list, give out free information, tips, whatever and build trust and then include some affilaite links and make some money
.
I wrote this post while watching the Monday Night Football game so I hope I included everything… I’m not reading over it because it is getting near the end and it’s an exciting game haha, have a good week and I will back with a post at the start of October!
Today (well tomorrow because I’m writing this just after midnight) is my birthday… 22nd!
I feel like 22 is pretty much the perfect age and I don’t want to get much older haha… just felt like making a quick post because I’m bored and feel like dropping a link to my newer poker site
Tomorrow during the day I have class and me and some buddies are going to have some beers at the pub on campus during the afternoon. Heading out for dinner with my dad and his wife afterward and then some people are coming over to my new place before heading downtown for the night. The nightclubs here are packed lately because university and college just started last week, but that means a ton of great looking women
. I am trying to get a booth and some bottles and just let loose and have some fun.. Thursday will be rough but I will definitely not being doing any work or going to school.
Anyways just wanted to let any of the blog readers know I am accepting articles for my Poker Download site. As long as the topic isn’t written about already and it is a pretty generic topic I am probably open to posting an article about it with a link back to your (quality) site! hit me up via MSN Skype or PAL if you are interested in getting something up… I probably won’t be posting more articles until Friday or Monday. This is a good chance for anyone with a poker site, cheers!
