About Me
For this About Me page I am going to break it into years and show you exactly how I got into the affiliate business and my progress since.
2005 ish – I think it was around 2005 when my buddy had found out about poker affiliating and started doing the Party Poker “Free $50″ promotion – he was making some good money off of it and I was interested. He showed me the PAW forums, where I read up a little bit but didn’t end up doing much because I had zero knowledge with creating websites and I was only like 17 years old.
2007 – I headed off to University for business and took a Computer Science course which introduced me to building websites with Dreamweaver. I was still really into playing poker at this time and remembered about the Poker Affiliate forums. I googled and found the forum again and starting reading and asking really stupid questions (hey it worked!). I got some help from a few very nice affiliates and created my first poker site that was targeted at poker players in my city. couple months went by and I was learning things everyday (not making much money at all though). I stuck with it and created a new website targeting poker bonuses. By the end of 2007 I started to see a bit of money roll in and was getting excited.
2008 – Doing bad in University, I was starting to see some progress with my poker sites. I created a couple more poker sites at the start of 2008 including Bonus Poker Review which is doing well to this day. By the time summer rolled around I decided I could go without having a summer job and could write for others to earn some extra money on top of the ~$1000 I was taking in per month from affiliate programs. I didn’t do too well in University and didn’t enjoy it at all – I decided to take the year off and just work on my internet business and play hockey. This was the best decision of my life! By the end of 2008 I was making some good money and set some big goals for 2009.
2009 – I made the decision that I would go back to school in September of 2009, this time to a College which is easier, shorter and more focused than a University here in Canada. Up until September I worked almost full time on my affiliate sites and began expanding into other niches including: casino, sports betting, bingo, dating, and health supplements. Poker affiliate income is still by far my biggest right now, but with my Sports Betting Odds website getting a lot of traffic I am starting to see some good revenue from that. Right now it is the end of September and I am trying to balance school and working on my sites, with all of my goals in the back of my mind (and written on my whiteboard
