About Me

My Poker Affiliate Story

Written November 9th, 2008

I find that it's hard to write an 'About Me' page when making a website. I usually don't know where to begin or what my readers are interested in about me, but here we go.

I am currently 20 years old and I am from Ontario, Canada. I got introduced to the poker affiliate business briefly when I was about seventeen, through a friend who was doing some offline and online promoting. At the time I didn't know much at all about online poker and knew nothing about building or running a website. I read what were then called the PAW forums (now the PAP forums) for a bit but lost interested quickly because I was so unfamiliar with everything. About two years later I was in university and took a computer course which involved building basic websites using Dreamweaver. I then remember about poker affiliating and revisited the PAW forums. After doing some research on the forums and some affiliate based websites I decided I would give it a shot. I am so glad I gave it a shot and stuck with it.

At the start I was probably the most clueless kid ever and made the worst looking website ever created lol. This is when one of my friends I met over the forums helped me out. Nicole or 'NewPokerGirl' on the forums (who owns this great Poker Strategy website) spent a few hours chatting with me on MSN helping me with my new site. The simple things she taught me helped me come along ways (Thanks Nicole!).

My first affiliate site was dedicated to my local city and ended up getting about 10 visitors per day through local poker terms. The content wasn't too good as I was new and I don't think it got to many conversions, but it was a start in the industry. After that I decided to start a new poker bonus related website with all of the skills I had learned. This site went pretty well for my second site ever created and still to this day is doing well. There were still a few mistakes I made from the beginning so I decided to start another poker bonus and review related website. This site was and still is my number one site, but I still need to work on some things on it. Since then I have created a bunch of different 'mini sites' within the poker industry and I recently created a sports related website.

Now a days I have taken a year off going to school and am working as an affiliate as my only source of income. I don't really like calling myself a full time affiliate because I will be going back to school next year and am currently on a pretty competitive hockey team which takes up a lot of my time. My goal in life is to be able to work from my home doing work online; I really don't want to be working in the 'real world' having to listen to a boss - I want to be in control of all the money I make. One of my role models is the poker affiliate baller Jeremy Enke. JE is the man in the industry and has inspired me so much. I also want to give a shout out to the guys listed under 'useful websites' on the left hand side, they have all helped me out and provide motivation as well.

Alright well I wrote a lot more than I expected to so I hope you have a grasp on who I am and how I got into this awesome industry. Feel free to e-mail at anytime, I love to chat on MSN, Skype or through e-mail.
